Class Action Mandamus Lawsuit – Challenging N-400 Naturalization Delays (Pro Bono Initiative)
Class Action Mandamus Lawsuit – Challenging N-400 Naturalization Delays (Pro Bono Initiative)
/In response to hundreds of community members being left in limbo after filing their N-400 naturalization applications between 2019 and 2020, Mr. Alabbassi took bold, self-funded legal action to fight for their rights.
Recognizing that individual mandamus lawsuits typically cost between $7,000 and $15,000 per person, Mr. Alabbassi instead launched a pro bono class action mandamus lawsuit—an innovative and community-focused approach designed to hold USCIS accountable for its unreasonable delays.
The impact was significant:
Over 1,000 individuals received decisions on their long-delayed N-400 applications following the lawsuit.
A list of more than 500 applicants was submitted directly, resulting in interviews being scheduled and final decisions issued.
This initiative brought long-overdue resolution to applicants who had waited years without progress on their cases.
This legal effort reflects Alabbassi Law Office’s unwavering commitment to justice, community service, and holding government agencies accountable when they fail to fulfill their responsibilities.
